Rubella,Thalassemia awareness camp by RCMPC

Rotary club of Mumbai Cuffe Parade organised  Rubella and Thalasemia awareness  camp on 28 Aug at 9.30 am at Worli, for the parents of Green lawns School and Rotaractors of Khalsa College.
Awareness programme was attended by eminent Doctors from H. N (Reliance) Hospital, Dr. Rahual Varma, Dr. Ashwin Shetty and Dr. Shweta Bansal.

Principal of Greenlawns school Sangeeta Thakkar, Ave. Chair Rtn. Rajendra Agarwal, coordinator Prez. Rtn. Pankaj Tanna, RC Worli and District Group Chief Avenue Head of community services Rtn. Chetan Desai were present. IPP Sonal Somaiya made an effort to keep this commitment.

President Pinki Dalal said that the programme is divided into two parts. First part was held on 28th Aug 2018, which was only for the awareness, and the second part will be in the end of September 2018, for the actual vaccination programme. It will be held in Govt school and slums with the help of Govt Hospitals and doctors. 

Over 100 children took part in this camp.

Miracles of Mission Muskan

We live in an age of miracles. ~ Levon Helm Residing in Borivali, Mumbai, poor Mahanto is a father of two daughters. He was very unhappy for them as both the girls are heart patients. When I met Mahanto at SRCC Children Hospital one of his daughters had already undergone surgery. He was so overjoyed he could not hold back his emotions and tears as he spoke to us. His 5 year daughter was successfully operated and is now stable. I have captured his joy in a video clip which I am wish to share here as an attachment. After meeting Mahanto, I believe that miracles truly occur. Its impossible to believe this unless one looks into Mahanto's eyes. A painter by profession, he earns Rs. 550 per day, he has no choice but to work daily being a daily labourer. Both the daughters kept falling ill. How many Rotarians know the Rotary Awards for Vocational Excellence were inaugurated in 1982 ? Then adopted by Rotary International . It was invented by the Rotary District 9685 (Australia) Vocational Service Committee.  The first Awards were presented to three candidates at the 1983 District Conference in Bathurst by PDG Graham Turnidge. The concept was accepted by the Clubs of District 9685 by Rotary International in subsequent years as an integral part of their Vocational Service program. RCMCP had selected three personalities for the year 2018.
