Dil se : Gift of a heart

Dear Friends, This Diwali we will be launching our Flagship Project, "Dil Se", which undertakes pediatric heart surgeries with Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. We intend to start with one surgery scaling it up to a minimum 8 to 10 surgeries. Our journey starts with baby Pragnya. As you are reading this she has already been operated upon and has gone back to her village hail and hearty. Our duty starts here. There are so many more Pragnya's, who wait for a new life. And we can help their cause. Donate Rs. 25,000 per surgery. Actually amount of surgery costs Rs. 3 lacs, partly paid by Govt of Maharashtra and RI. This first surgery from our club is by President Pinki Dalal. One more is also promised. Rtn. Yogesh Jesrani has committed a few and Rtn. How many Rotarians know the Rotary Awards for Vocational Excellence were inaugurated in 1982 ? Then adopted by Rotary International . It was invented by the Rotary District 9685 (Australia) Vocational Service Committee.  The first Awards were presented to three candidates at the 1983 District Conference in Bathurst by PDG Graham Turnidge. The concept was accepted by the Clubs of District 9685 by Rotary International in subsequent years as an integral part of their Vocational Service program. RCMCP had selected three personalities for the year 2018. Known , Well known and unknown was the criteria set by the BOD.   In recognition of bringing change and upliftment in life of 17 villages of Bid District of Maharashtra, Mayank Gandhi , Social activist  received the Vocational Excellence Award 2018, instituted by Rotary Club of Mumbai Cuffe parade (R.I. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) is a nation-wide campaign in India for the period 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, smaller towns, and rural areas. The objectives of Swachh Bharat include eliminating open defecation through the construction of household-owned and community-owned toilets and establishing an accountable mechanism of monitoring toilet use. Run by the Government of India, the mission aims to achieve an Open-Defecation Free (ODF) India by 2 October 2019, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi, by constructing 90 million toilets in rural India at a projected cost of ₹1.96 lakh crore (US$30 billion). The campaign was officially launched on 2 October 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is India's largest cleanliness drive to date with 3 million government employees, school students, and college students from all parts of India participating in 4,041 statutory cities, towns

An Evening to remember

Fellowship program. Spontaneous Programme gives sheer joy.  Members of RCMCP made a programme for a movie.  Rtn. Anil Aggarwal made  fantastic arrangements from buying tickets to dinner. Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. Movie was good but food at Status was very very good.
