A Promise to keep ....

In deed  It was the histrionic  date, 27th July, 2018.
On Guru Purnima a memorable Tree planting drive organised by Rotary District 3141.
Planned by lead host Club of Boisar Industrial town, Forest Deptment  and Gokhale College, Jawhar on a barren hill near Mokhada village. It was like a festival of trees.

The students had decorated the college and there was a Tree Findi with dancing and slogan shouting disciplined college students. They planted a large number of Laburnum, Karanj, Peepal, Sitafal, White Jamun,Tamarind trees.
The college students and young Rotarians climbed the hill with ease.
Two enthusiastic Rotarians president Meera Nair and project director Narayan Mohite worked for months for success of their greening efforts.
District Governor of Rotary District 3141 Shashi kumar Sharma was the chief guest. Our club co hosted this event. From RCMCP five members President Pinki Dalal, IPP sonal Somaiya, Hon. Club Secretary Charoo Mehta, Jt.Secretary Leena Jesrani , Youth director  Priti Gada took part in it.
At least now  We can say happily that  our new year started with green thumb.
We have done first project with planting 10 big sapling, Three yrs old , 10 feet height. So, within 3 yrs time it will grow in to full fledged trees.  Among them Few  were Bahugani, few were white Jamun trees.  So birds can have feast. Of course, its not enough. We have decided to score 30 trees in month of July and 100 by three months.
Today , more trees were planted by our Rotractors in Khalsa College , Dadar, F ward.Mumbai.
When its coming on Green cover , Whatever we do is not enough.
On it I remember Rudyard Kipling :
......But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
Yes, Rotary District 3141 have promised 10 lacs trees, and its a promise to keep.
