Medical camp by RCMCP at Saghan Kshetra , Palanpur, Gujarat


As a citizen of metropolis we could not even think of problems average villagers are facing. Not only Medical but something so small like sanitation and hygiene. Especially when scarcity of water for nearly 10 months a year . Palanpur is one of the city of Gujarat where water scarcity is normal. In such circumstances running an organisation in interior part of Banaskantha district is unbelievable. Vimla jyot is known for their work. a 60 years old organitation where Asivasi children come for study. They are provided free accommodation , food, education so they can mix with the mainstream.

We did our mega medical camp there. Served 750 boys and girls. Pathological check , direction on sanitation and hygiene.  It is more important to do such camps in such villages and in Ashramshala , cause urban students are exposed with all types of knowledge. Thanks to TV, Media but in rural area such medium dose not exist. In this condition its more appropriate to spread light among them.
Many cultures have beliefs, myths and taboos relating to menstruation. Almost always, there are social norms or unwritten rules and practises about managing menstruation and interacting with menstruating women. 
At Vimlajyot, Saghan kshetra , chitrasani , Palanpur , one special camp to spread information regarding medical and sanitation  was held by RCMCP. Palanpur based Gynecologist  Dr. Asha Bhatol came with her team and addressed the students. 
Needless to say Saghan kshetra at Palanpur is like an Oasis in the  barren, rocky landscape of Chitrasani. Of


course now its not the same as it was. Still , students comes from BPL families of the area. Now today it has been converted into beautifully levelled green fields and meadows, with thick tree cover, then the credit must go to the pioneering farsighted efforts and the dedicated work of the team that runs the Balaram Saghan Kshetra Samiti (Balaram Intensive Area Samiti), Chitrasani.
In this Campus more than 80 teenager girls are studying for teachers training course. Which will make them eligible for a job as a teacher in any Govt.schools in Gujarat. In a way Vimla jyot is creating Vocational opportunities for them.

Miracles of Mission Muskan

We live in an age of miracles. ~ Levon Helm Residing in Borivali, Mumbai, poor Mahanto is a father of two daughters. He was very unhappy for them as both the girls are heart patients. When I met Mahanto at SRCC Children Hospital one of his daughters had already undergone surgery. He was so overjoyed he could not hold back his emotions and tears as he spoke to us. His 5 year daughter was successfully operated and is now stable. I have captured his joy in a video clip which I am wish to share here as an attachment. After meeting Mahanto, I believe that miracles truly occur. Its impossible to believe this unless one looks into Mahanto's eyes. A painter by profession, he earns Rs. 550 per day, he has no choice but to work daily being a daily labourer. Both the daughters kept falling ill. How many Rotarians know the Rotary Awards for Vocational Excellence were inaugurated in 1982 ? Then adopted by Rotary International . It was invented by the Rotary District 9685 (Australia) Vocational Service Committee.  The first Awards were presented to three candidates at the 1983 District Conference in Bathurst by PDG Graham Turnidge. The concept was accepted by the Clubs of District 9685 by Rotary International in subsequent years as an integral part of their Vocational Service program. RCMCP had selected three personalities for the year 2018.
